With another victory in Assen, Toprak Razgatlioglu is just six points away from the lead in the World Superbike Championship with three rounds to go. And, despite the stated goal of becoming champion, the ROKiT BMW rider does not focus on the math.
The Turkish rider explained to the website GPOne.com that his approach is to take each round one at a time, now eagerly looking forward to the upcoming one in Misano:
– I am looking forward to seeing what happens in Misano, because we have already done several tests there and I hope this helps us find a competitive setup. At the moment, I am not thinking about the championship, I am in second place, and it’s race by race.
The results may be strong, but Razgatlioglu sees room for improvement in the bike: ‘In the first tests, I noticed that when braking, we had a lot of locking and we need to improve the engine brake, sometimes it works better, and other times worse. In Barcelona, it didn’t work well, on Saturday in Assen it was average, and on Sunday maybe it was too much. We need the right balance‘.
