Nashville was the stage for another round of the AMA Supercross 450, with Jett Lawrence finishing the main event with the victory. The Honda rider was not the only one to lead, as Eli Tomac spent ten laps in the lead, but did not have the arguments to counter the (now) sole championship leader.
The most anticipated race of the night began with Tomac (Yamaha) making the holeshot at Nissan Stadium, ahead of J.Lawrence and Ken Roczen (Suzuki), but it was the German who became the main pursuer of #3 in the following laps.
On the eighth lap Lawrence returned to second place and, three laps later, took the lead of the race for the first time. From the 13th lap (until the penultimate, the 20th) there were six different riders in second place, while Lawrence continued to extend his lead.
In the end, the big winner of the round was #18, beating Tomac by 9.323 seconds, while Cooper Webb (Yamaha) secured the last place on the podium. Jason Anderson (Kawasaki) was fourth and Justin Barcia (GASGAS) was fifth.
As for the championship standings, the leader, isolated, is J.Lawrence with 286 points, five more than Webb. Tomac closes the top 3 with 253 points.
