Yamaha remains far from the competition and in the last MotoGP round in Austin, it was once again visible. Still, the team is making a great effort to get back to their best and had a ‘productive’ race, assured Massimo Meregalli.
‘We cannot be satisfied with the results in Austin – there is clearly work to be done – but we are not sparing any efforts. It was a difficult race weekend overall, but also productive. We tried new things and this data will help us as we prepare to make changes for the future,’ said the Team Director when analyzing the race at the GP of the Americas.
The Yamaha manager also addressed the races of Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins: ‘It’s a shame that Fabio dropped to 20th on the first lap, because the tire life was not bad. Álex, on the other hand, had a great start, but lacked race pace due to an experimental setup he was trying. Now that we have more knowledge, we will regroup and define our strategy for Jerez […]’.
