More news for Team HRC in Assen. Iker Lecuona got injured in the third free practice of the Superbike World Championship at the Dutch track and won’t be able to continue in action this Saturday.
The crash happened at turn 16, and as a result the Spanish rider was examined at the medical center. After not participating in the Superpole, he was evaluated again and a concussion in his right knee was found, which is prohibitive.
Therefore, with pain in the area, Lecuona was declared unfit for the first race of the weekend. However, a return to action tomorrow is still possible.
After the warm-up, the physical condition of the Spanish rider will be reassessed. Then, he may or may not get the green light to participate in the Superpole race and the second race.
