Fenton Seabright achieved his first pole position in the World Supersport 300 this Friday. The Kawasaki GP Project rider prevailed in the Superpole in Assen, held under rain at the legendary Dutch circuit.
Throughout the session, the times improved considerably: starting above two minutes and the fastest in the final classification lapped in 1m55s. Several riders took the lead.
However, Aldi Satya Mahendra (Team BrCorse/Yamaha), Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki), and Unai Calatayud (Arco Sash MotoR University Team/Yamaha) stood out.
It was about ten minutes before the end that Seabright set the best time at 1m55.372s, beating Mahendra by 0.016s. Petr Svoboda (Fusport-RT Motorsport by SKM-Kawasaki) later improved to finish third at 0.176s.
Veneman was relegated to fourth place. He will share the second row of the grid with Galang Hendra Pratama (ProGP NitiRacing/Yamaha) and Samuel di Sora (Arco Sash MotoR University Team/Yamaha), who finished just ahead of Calatayud.
Julio García González (Kove) set the fastest lap in the final moments of the Superpole, but lost the opportunity to secure another pole position when his lap was invalidated. He will start from 28th.
