The Americas GP was a weekend to remember and will be remembered throughout the season. The winner of the Sprint race and Sunday’s race made history by becoming the first rider to win with three different manufacturers in the premier class, and we witnessed another performance from rookie Pedro Acosta, who finished in second place.
Honda test rider Stefan Bradl, speaking on ‘Sport & Talk from Hangar 7,’ discussed Marc Márquez’s body language before the start of the GP.
– ‘It meant something to Marc because he knew many things were possible. And if he says things are possible, then a podium is not enough. He is on the right path: he already feels the scent of being in front. Marc finally wants to win again, more than 900 days is too long. He felt the opportunity and it cost him to make a mistake. He had the first battles at the beginning of the race. Then he rode in his old style and took the lead. Then, unfortunately, it went wrong, it was a shame’.
Bradl also questioned Marc Márquez’s momentary fall: ‘At first, I thought maybe he was riding in the old Honda style. He was making a lot of mistakes. But then he admitted he had brake problems. He took the lead on the lap he fell; Pedro Acosta was very happy, he was right behind him and must have smiled a bit when he fell flat on the ground. So, the circle closes again. Maybe it’s also part of the generational change’.
