Johann Zarco stayed far from his best in this GP of the Americas, mainly due to having finished prematurely… and due to an issue with his Honda RC213V. In addition, the Frenchman, former Pramac Racing rider, requested… a different perspective on the development.
The #5 spoke about his performance and revealed he had a problem with the bike that forced him to retire after completing six laps: ‘I try to give my best and I did it this weekend. In the race, I had a technical issue, it seems that something got stuck in the rear and I couldn’t continue, there was a lot of vibration and I had to stop to avoid risking for nothing. I wanted to at least complete 20 laps and gather more information but I wasn’t able to do it’.
He then reaffirmed the need not to be negative in his thoughts about the team and performance, clarifying that there is, however, a need to have a different perspective on the direction to follow: ‘There’s no need to be pessimistic, we need to understand things and we have the ability from people to do it, but maybe we need to see it in a different way, from a different angle’, he emphasized.
