Two weeks ago, Liberty Media announced the acquisition of Dorna Sports, becoming the owner of MotoGP. The deal is not yet finalized, but it is considered almost certain and promises to grow the championship.
The current leader in the standings, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), welcomed the news with enthusiasm, believing it will be a positive change:
– I think it’s very good news for MotoGP. I also spoke with Carlos [Ezpeleta, sports director] and he was very happy about it. So, if he’s happy, he’s a very smart leader, it’s because it’s a really good moment for MotoGP.
The Spaniard believes that the riders can also benefit: ‘I think it will be great for us, the riders, if we can make the sport bigger. I think it’s good news‘.
