Pedro Acosta is impressing everyone in this early MotoGP season. In three Grand Prix races, he already has two podiums, and last Sunday at the Americas GP he led a race for the first time.
Before the Austin round, the Spanish rider praised Kevin Schwantz’s character, and the former rider returned the compliments, stating quoted by the newspaper AS:
– Acosta is a new great phenomenon. I mean, I think there is no doubt that Pedro is a true thrill for the category. He is fast. In terms of personality, I don’t know much, but I think his riding skills speak for themselves: he has the pace to be at the front despite being a rookie.
Schwantz now relies on Acosta’s progress: ‘Over time, he will discover the racing technique, what he can do with the tires, how far he can push them, and then he will start to discover what he can do in the race to be able to win‘.
After three Grand Prix races, Acosta is in fourth place in the championship with 54 points, being one of the three riders who have stepped on the podium twice in 2024 so far. The others are Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati).
