Outside the podium in yesterday’s race, Jorge Martín is not yet looking at the championship standings, which he leads, but admits to still seeing another rider who was far from his best in Austin as one of the favorites: Pecco Bagnaia.
‘I think there are many riders who can fight for the championship. I think Pecco remains the favorite because he won last season, he is number one,’ began saying the Pramac Racing Spanish rider before “selecting” other opponents as potential title contenders:
– The rivals are strong, we have Marc [Márquez], even Pedro [Acosta] is very good and consistent. The important thing is that we are fast everywhere and we have to focus on that. Consistency will also be very important. All champions were consistent, so we need that. I think we are doing a good job, five podiums in six.
Thus, Martín reiterated that the achieved result was positive: ‘Therefore, we have to maintain this way of working and, if a bad weekend is fourth, I can be very happy and, when I have the opportunity, I have to try for the win. That is my goal’.
