Jorge Prado maintains his winning streak in the MXGP Motocross World Championship. This Sunday, he was the winner at the MXGP of Trento, held in Pietramurata, marking his fourth victory in as many rounds.
Prado (Red Bull GasGas) took the holeshot in the first race, starting from 17th place and leading at the end of the first lap. The Spanish rider impressed at the start and remained in the lead until he was passed by Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) on the sixth lap. Two laps later, he also lost position to Tim Gajser (Team HRC).
The battle for the win was thrilling between Febvre and Gajser, with the Frenchman coming out on top by just 0.374s. Prado didn’t have the pace to match the top two finishers, ending up in third. Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM) finished fourth, with Jeremy Seewer (Kawasaki) in fifth.
In the second race, Prado once again took the holeshot to take the lead, only to be challenged by Febvre. Herlings crashed in the early stages, ruling him out of contention for the top positions. The battle for the lead between Prado and Febvre livened up the early laps, but the Frenchman made a mistake that dropped him to fifth.
Calvin Vlaanderen (Monster Energy Yamaha) moved into second place, but couldn’t match Prado’s pace. The Spanish rider secured the win in the race, crossing the finish line 3.798s ahead of the Dutch rider. Seewer claimed third place ahead of Gajser, while Febvre couldn’t move from fifth. Herlings recovered to seventh place.
With 45 points, Prado achieved victory in the MXGP of Trento, thus strengthening his lead in the MXGP World Championship. Second was Febvre with 41 points, while Gajser scored 40 points to finish third.
