Miguel Oliveira closed the preparations for the main race of the MotoGP Americas GP with the 12th fastest time in the warm-up in Austin. It was a short session to smooth out edges, in which only four flying laps were possible.
With his first lap, the Portuguese rider was in 11th position and, despite improving afterwards, he ended up in 15th place on the timesheets.
There were about three minutes left until the end of this warm-up, allowing for two more timed laps. And on the next one, Oliveira made substantial improvements to move up to ninth.
In the final attempt, the rider from Almada did not do better, falling prey to the improvements of his opponents. He lost positions, finishing in 12th place 1.027s behind leader Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) with a time of 2m03.368s.
