There are no words to describe what Maverick Viñales did this Saturday in Austin. After securing pole position for the MotoGP Americas GP with a new record lap, he won the Sprint race.
The Aprilia rider started from the front, maintained the lead, and even in the early stages distanced himself, staying out of reach of his rivals. He crossed the finish line 2.294s ahead of Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati).
In a quick interview with the official broadcast, Viñales began by addressing the audience: ‘Thank you guys! Thank you to all the fans, to all the spectators, you have been fantastic all weekend.’
Regarding his performance, the Spanish rider admitted to living a dream and being impressed with the pace, making a point to congratulate the Aprilia team:
– ‘What can I say? I’m dreaming, I’m dreaming, so I want to keep going like this. The level was fantastic! I just want to congratulate all these people and all of you, because we deserve this. So, let’s go!’
