Fermín Aldeguer was the fastest in the Moto2 Americas GP practice sessions. This Saturday, the second session was the one where all the riders set their best times so far.
Alonso López (Beta Tools SpeedUp/Boscoscuro) was the early leader, then surpassed by rookie Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team/Kalex), before reclaiming the lead. The Spanish rider was once again beaten, this time by Marcos Ramírez.
The OnlyFans American Racing Team rider held the position until the 25-minute mark. He was then beaten by Ai Ogura (MT Helmets-MSi/Boscoscuro), but Aldeguer set the fastest time of the session right after.
The Spanish rider, on a Boscoscuro from Beta Tools SpeedUp, lapped in 2m07.543s to be just 26 thousandths faster than Ogura with a new lap record. Jake Dixon (CFMoto Asterius Aspar/Kalex) finished third with his final lap, followed by Ramírez. Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing/Kalex) completed the top five. Further down, championship leader Arón Canet (Fantic Racing/Kalex) secured ninth place.
Regarding direct qualification for the second qualifying session, Bo Bendsneyder (Pertamina Mandalika GAS UP Team/Kalex) secured the last spot by finishing 14th with a 0.119s advantage over 15th-placed Moreira.
