The Gresini Racing rider finds himself in a worse position than last year and facing more difficulties, admitting that he turned to his brother Marc, one of his strongest circuits.
Speaking to journalists at the American circuit, #73 began by talking about his day: ‘It wasn’t an easy day. It wasn’t what I expected this Friday morning. I made a mistake attacking the times. I lost time to get into Q2. The details here are very important. It’s very easy to make mistakes. So, we know what we have to do. The youngest of the Márquez clan then revealed that he is experiencing some difficulties, still related to adapting to the new bike: ‘No, this year the bike is different. I feel a little worse than last year. At the moment, we are trying to understand why and why not. We have to analyze and see if we can take a good step in that direction. But we have to understand some things. The change of direction and the fight. And also the braking. It moves a lot. So, these are just some details. But we have to solve them’.
