Joe Roberts is currently in great form in the Moto2 World Championship. The American rider is coming off a very positive result in the Portuguese GP with a second place in the standings.
After an American team joined the MotoGP grid, the Trackhouse Racing Team, the American rider gained more prominence for a hypothetical move up to the premier class by the newly arrived American team. In fact, the idea of putting an American rider in an American team in MotoGP would be a “dream” for the Trackhouse officials, however, they would have to manage their ranks to “fit” Joe Roberts into the team.
Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernández will end their contract with the Aprilia Racing satellite team at the end of this year and, if Joe Roberts could demonstrate the level he has shown in the first two races of the year until the end of the season, it would be a possibility to consider.
Joe Roberts was confronted with this possibility and did not deny that it would be a great privilege to be part of Trackhouse Racing Team’s plans in the near future, according to the statements on Paddock.gp.
– ‘It was fantastic, and the team? Extraordinary people. And what about entering MotoGP with them? Of course it would be a dream. But here, I have to keep my feet on the ground and focus on this season’.
