The emotions of MotoGP are back after two weeks of absence. Enea Bastianini will play an important card throughout this season, as he is at the end of his contract with the official Ducati team and has a future at stake.
‘We worked very well during the winter, I knew it would be a slightly more difficult start to the season. I struggled a bit more in Qatar. But we know what aspects we need to work on, so we are quite, I wouldn’t say calm, but confident,’ analyzed the Italian rider in statements reproduced by AS.
‘Last year, I missed the race due to injury. I have very good memories of the race in 2022. It was my favorite victory in that season and it’s nice for me to come back. The mentality will always be the same, because I believe that this year we are starting off on the right foot,’ added the rider.
After the races in Losail and Portimão, Bastianini (Ducati) is in third place in the overall standings with 39 points, just behind Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) and leader Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac Racing/Ducati).
In the Americas GP, Marc Márquez (Gresini Racing/Ducati) is seen as one of the main candidates to win Sunday’s race. The Spanish rider has achieved seven victories in nine appearances at the Austin circuit.
‘I know we will have problems with Marc because he is very fast on this track, but we will also have problems with other riders. Let’s see how it goes,’ emphasized Bastianini two weeks after the Portugal GP.
