During these weeks of pause in the MotoGP World Championship, one of the big topics of discussion was the acquisition of Dorna by Liberty Media – which will put the premier class of motorcycle racing under the same ownership as Formula 1.
This weekend, the Grand Prix of the Americas is the first one after this announcement – and right in the country of the media and entertainment company, the United States of America.
Miguel Oliveira, who competes for Trackhouse Racing – the only American team in the paddock – told the press that he sees this acquisition in a positive light and as a potential added value for MotoGP:
– I think it is definitely a positive change, that they felt the need to have a bigger and better partner in terms of direction for the future. I believe it will take time to see any major changes, but hopefully they are on the horizon. In the short term, I think we will all benefit from this.
