During a longer break in the Superbike World Championship, Nicolò Bulega took the opportunity to have surgery on his right arm two weeks ago. The goal was to address compartment syndrome problems.
According to the website GPOne.com, the Aruba.it Ducati rookie is now undergoing physiotherapy to regain fitness before the next round of the championship – which is in Assen next week.
Meanwhile, Bulega used social media to update followers on his health status. In a very graphic image posted on Instagram’s “Story,” you can see the operated arm with several stitches.
It will only be in a week in Assen that it will be possible to assess to what extent the recovery has been complete or if the Italian will be affected in any way in his performance.
After two rounds, Bulega has three podiums, including a victory, and leads the championship. He has only a 12-point lead over teammate Álvaro Bautista and Alex Lowes (Kawasaki).
