Trackhouse Racing is in its first season in the MotoGP World Championship, starting with a current Aprilia RS-GP in the hands of Miguel Oliveira. Raúl Fernández still has last year’s version, but the team’s plans are ambitious, aiming to fight for significant results.
In the future, they will have to face the Aprilia factory team. However, despite the different status between them, Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, assured that he expects to see Trackhouse Racing surpass the factory team:
– The emergence of Trackhouse is a huge opportunity, the best among any other manufacturer. It is a very ambitious team. I can’t wait for Trackhouse to beat us, because that would mean we could have done better. If you want to grow, competition is the basis of everything.
Regarding the importance of Trackhouse for Aprilia, the Italian explained: ‘For us, it is very valuable to have Trackhouse. Their influence will be key in the development of the RS-GP‘.
In the first two rounds of the season, Miguel Oliveira achieved the best result for the American team by finishing 15th in Qatar and 9th in the Portuguese GP. These are the only points earned so far, as Fernández retired from both races.
