Trackhouse Racing is completing its first season in the MotoGP World Championship, having started with a current Aprilia RS-GP in the hands of Miguel Oliveira. Raúl Fernández still has last year’s version, but the team’s plans are ambitious, aiming to fight for significant results.
In the future, they will have to face the Aprilia factory team. But, despite the different status between each one, Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, assured that he expects to see Trackhouse Racing surpass the factory team:
– The emergence of Trackhouse is a huge opportunity, the best among any other constructor. It is a very ambitious team. I can’t wait for Trackhouse to beat us, because that will mean we could have done better. If you want to grow, competition is the basis of everything.
Regarding the importance of Trackhouse for Aprilia, the Italian explained: ‘For us, it is very valuable to be able to count on Trackhouse. Their influence will be key in the development of the RS-GP.’
In the first two rounds of the season, Miguel Oliveira achieved the best result for the American team by finishing 15th in Qatar and 9th in the Portuguese GP. So far, they are the only points earned, as Fernández retired from both races.
