Honda announced that four of its products – the EM1 e: electric moped, the ultra-compact foldable e-scooter Motocompacto, the large-sized BF350 engine, and the robotic lawnmower Miimo – have been named winners of the Red Dot 2024 in the Product Design discipline of the Red Dot Design, one of the world’s most respected design awards. This is the fifth consecutive year that Honda products have won a Red Dot award.
EM1 e:
Developed under the concept of creating an “ideal electric scooter for people”, the EM1 e: is a personal electric moped equipped with the replaceable Honda Mobile Power Pack. The EM1 e: features a simple and slim packaging, thanks to the optimization of the layout of the main components. The headlights are made of high-brightness LEDs, contributing to greater peace of mind for customers during night driving. The headlight has a simple design embedded in the surface, enhancing the iconic look of the EM1 e: model.
Motocompacto
The Motocompacto is a modern and fully electric version of the Honda Motocompo, which was originally introduced in 1981 as a “trunk bike” designed to fit inside the Honda City. Developed as a “first and last mile” mobility solution, it was designed to be used in combination with an electric vehicle. The Motocompacto features a sophisticated style that belies its simplicity. Its compact size means it can be folded into an easy-to-carry configuration, making it possible to load/unload from a standard B-segment vehicle and store it in a tight space. The design also allows for a high level of customization and customer adaptation through the application of stickers and other decorations.
