Still eager to make the most of himself and his RC213V, Joan Mir heads to Austin with the certainty that he has to achieve a good result and, at the same time, with the desire to see how the new surface can ‘affect the track’, and how his bike will behave.
‘Going to America is always good, we only see the fans once a year, so it’s important to put on a good show. We are going to a third very different track in three rounds, so we have to see and understand how the Honda is performing there’, Mir began in a team statement, before addressing the different layout of the Austin track and the fact that it has been resurfaced:
– COTA is one of the most unique tracks on the calendar and especially the first sector of the track is very specific. Much of the track has been renewed since the last time we were here, so I am eager to see the impact of these changes on the track.
After two rounds, Mir has accumulated 7 points and occupies 15th place in the championship.
