Currently at the end of his contract, Jorge Martín does not want to continue at Pramac Racing for the 2025 MotoGP season. Whether at Ducati or another manufacturer, the rider has made it clear that he hopes to be in a factory team.
The Spaniard has arguments for this – he was runner-up in 2023 and this year leads the championship after two rounds, in what is his best start to a season in the premier class. However, it will not be easy to move to a factory team – Ducati has only one spot with many candidates, KTM has several riders to choose from, and Honda and Yamaha are still far from the competitiveness of European factories.
Aprilia remains, where Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales are at the end of their contracts. Espargaró, 34 years old, does not completely rule out ending his career at the end of 2024. His agent is Albert Valera.
And Martín also has the Spaniard as his agent. Taking that into account, Alex Hofmann told SPEEDWEEK.com that it is possible that Martinator ends up going to the Noale manufacturer:
– My feeling is that Jorge Martín could take the place of his training partner Aleix Espargaró on the RS-GP. We must not forget that Aleix and Jorge have the same agent, Albert Valera, and if Espargaró’s career were to end, Valera would at least put a foot in the door at Aprilia for Jorge Martín.
