At the end of last week, Monster Energy Yamaha announced the renewal of Fabio Quartararo until the 2026 MotoGP season. However, the rider could have chosen to leave for Aprilia, which offered him a proposal.
According to Motorsport.com, the Noale manufacturer proposed a contract of four million euros per year to the 2021 champion – far below the 12 million euros offered by Yamaha.
In financial terms, Aprilia could not have better arguments than Yamaha. However, in sporting terms the current reality is clear – the RS-GP offers much more guarantees of immediate competitiveness than the YZR-M1.
And it is worth remembering that this year Marc Márquez gave up many millions of euros to fight for better results by leaving Repsol Honda for Gresini. However, Quartararo chose to stay with Yamaha.
The Frenchman shows loyalty to the Iwata manufacturer, having confidence in the work being done – with many technical reinforcements, in addition to a clear change in approach and mentality in the development of the bike.
