The Chinese brand Yadea made a big impression at last year’s EICMA, with the presentation of the Kemper, an electric naked bike that stood out as the most performance-oriented model in its range.
Now, using the Kemper as a starting point, Yadea has revealed an even more sporty version of this bike called the Kemper RC. And as you can see in the photo above, the Kemper RC takes the form of a full-fairing sportbike with a futuristic style.
The angular lines of the bike, the bright color, and the single-sided swingarm make it clear that Yadea wants the Kemper RC to stand out from the competition.
Underneath the surface, Yadea has sourced components for the Kemper RC from big names, with KYB suspension components and a dual-disc brake setup from Brembo.
At its heart is a mid-drive electric motor with a maximum power of 40 kilowatts (about 54 hp), with a continuous power of 23 kilowatts (31 hp). This means that, for riders in Europe, the Kemper RC complies with the A2 standard, making it an interesting option for young riders looking to get into something electric.
But what do these numbers mean in the real world? Well, electric motors are known for their instant torque, and Kemper RC’s is no different. Yadea claims that the speed from 0 to 100 km/h is less than five seconds and the maximum speed is around 160 km/h.
When it comes time to recharge the bike, Yadea claims that the charging time from zero to 80% is only 10 minutes through a fast charger, as the battery consists of a 6.4 kWh unit with a capacity of 20 ampere-hours. However, Yadea makes no claims about the bike’s range.
In addition to powering the electric motor, the battery is also responsible for all electronic aids to the bike rider. ABS and traction control are standard, but Yadea has opted for a complete premium package with a color TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, and even an integrated front-mounted onboard camera.
At the time this article was written, Yadea had not yet revealed any information about the prices of the Kemper, let alone the Kemper RC. That being said, if Yadea wants to compete with big names like Zero Motorcycles, the correct price will undoubtedly be essential for the success of this bike.
