Lucas Coenen and Kay de Wolf were the big figures of MX2 in Rio Sardo, at the Sardinia GP. Both riders won a race each and ended up with the same points total in Italy.
In the first race, the highlight was Coenen (Nestaan Husqvarna Factory) beating his teammate by almost 30s (!) difference. De Wolf came in second with a specific difference of 29.973s.
On the podium places were also Camden Mc Lellan (Monster Energy Triumph), with Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM Factory) in fourth, while Mikkel Haarup (Monster Energy Triumph) was fifth. With Yamaha, the best was Rick Elzinga in sixth.
For the second race of the day, De Wolf came out on top and swapped positions with his teammate, Coenen, who beat everyone but especially his closest rival of the weekend, crossing the finish line with 11.684s.
Simon Laengenfelder (Red Bull GASGAS) was third and achieved his best result of the day, with Liam Everts (Red Bull KTM) in fourth, and Mc Lellan in fifth. Note the disqualification of Adamo for not fully stopping in the pitlane.
In terms of the overall standings of this GP, noteworthy are Coenen and De Wolf, both with 47 points. Mc Lellan was third with 36 points, two more than Laengenfelder.
De Wolf leads the championship with 170 points, 29 more than Laengenfelder. Coenen is third with 124.
