This past weekend was very special for Eli Tomac who managed to secure his first wins of the season in AMA Supercross 450, and then followed with a triple win in the St. Triple Crown. After a tough period, the Yamaha Star Racing rider believes he is finally back to his best.
In a team statement, the rider began by addressing his performance and did not hide his relief at returning to victory: ‘It was an extraordinary weekend for us here in St. Louis. We finally managed to get a win overall. I felt very good all day – from qualifying to the three main events. Our starts were good, the riding was good, and I’m back to what I was’.
This result is very important to him, as he felt that he was, in a way, going “a little” down a very complicated path. However, he now believes he has recovered: ‘I am very happy to get a win for the team. I was going through a tough phase, or whatever you want to call it. Now I feel like I’m back and I’m excited for the end of this series’.
