The next weekend will be very special for Roan van de Moosdijk, as he will make his full-time debut in the MXGP category with Team HRC, replacing the injured Rúben Fernández. The rider wants to perform well and show what he is “capable” of.
Eager to race in the top class of MXGP, de Moosdijk was very happy with the invitation from Honda: ‘When I heard about this opportunity, I knew I had to grab it with both hands. The opportunity to race for Team HRC doesn’t come around often and I am hopeful that I can show everyone what I am capable of, in what will be my full-time debut in the MXGP class’.
The responsibility is great, but so is his desire to start working: ‘It certainly won’t be easy to get up to speed with the Honda CRF450R right away, but seeing how well Tim (Gajser) has been riding it, I know it’s a very competitive bike and I’m excited to start and feel comfortable with it’.
The Dutchman expressed his gratitude to the Japanese manufacturer: ‘Thanks to everyone who has supported me to get to this moment and I can’t wait to get to Riola and line up for the first start’.
