Indian Motorcycles reveals the next evolution of the Scout model for the year 2025. After ten years of service, during which it was able to expand the Indian enthusiasts’ audience, the Scout as we knew it is about to be replaced by a completely new platform that skillfully maintains not only the recognizability of this model, but all the features that made it so popular, implementing them. This new lineup demonstrates the search for the ideal combination of a strongly recognizable design, balanced power, and cutting-edge technology focused on the rider and the pleasure of driving, thus keeping alive the legacy of one of the brand’s most beloved models. During the presentation, Indian representatives repeated several times: evolution, evolution in all aspects, not revolution.
To understand the importance of this novelty in the Indian family, just look at the sales numbers. The Scout, in its various variants, has been the best-selling motorcycle in the range since 2015 and alone represents 40% of Indian’s sales. A percentage that rises to 50% if we do not consider the US market, but only exports. In summary, worldwide, one in every two people who buy an Indian is the Scout model. It is also worth noting that 93% of new Indian customers choose a Scout, which means it is the brand’s winning model. Furthermore, it is also worth noting that almost a third of those who buy a Scout, more precisely 28%, are new or new motorcyclists. In total, over 100,000 Scouts have been sold in these ten years. It is evident that it was not possible to change such a successful design and an experienced designer like Ola Stenegärd was needed to lead the team. But it was necessary to evolve it and make it even more attractive, so here we are with the new generation.
The most amazing aspect, perhaps, is that at first glance it looks like the same old Scout we know. Instead, everything has been changed! Let’s start with the engine. At the heart of this new Scout is a 1250 cc twin-cylinder engine called SpeedPlus, liquid-cooled, which delivers 82 kW of power and over 109 Nm of torque, respectively +11% and +14% compared to its predecessor. The new tubular steel frame was designed not only to respond to a precise stylistic logic with references to the curves of Indian motorcycles from the past, but also dynamic thanks to its lightness and practical thanks to the high possibility of customization with interchangeable parts. The very low seat is maintained, always one of Scout’s points of pride and one of the reasons why it can attract even many beginner riders. Of course, ABS, traction control, and driving modes are not missing. The Indian Scout 2025 range features five distinct models, each with a unique character that adapts to the different souls of motorcyclists:Scout Bobber: Stripped down and with an aggressive stance, the Scout Bobber is the ideal expression of the iconic bobber style.
Sport Scout: Inspired by history, but redesigned for modern style, the Sport Scout brings a more aggressive spirit to the Scout lineup.
Scout Classic: A meeting point between past-inspired design and the needs of today’s American Cruiser riders, with top chrome and wide fenders.
Super Scout: Designed for the open road, with saddlebags, windshield, and passenger seat for maximum comfort.
101 Scout: The highest performance Scout ever from Indian Motorcycle, with premium components like adjustable USD suspension and Brembo brakes. Power here increases from 105 to 111 hp.
For the year 2025, the Indian Scout family is available in three levels of technological equipment:
Standard: Offers an affordable option with ABS, LED lighting, and updated instrumentation.
Limited: Adds traction control, Cruise Control, and selectable driving modes.
Limited +Tech: At the top of the range, it introduces the 101 mm touch screen with GPS navigation, driving statistics, and advanced connectivity.
