After stating that Pedro Acosta is very special, the KTM rider was asked about his own path and early career in MotoGP and recalled that not everything went smoothly.
Since then at the official KTM factory team, since making his debut in the category in 2020 – a year in which he even won a race – Binder recalled how his start in MotoGP was: ‘I remember starting in MotoGP and the difficulties I felt in the first test, and then I got to the first race and thought: “I am super fast”. I ended up falling many times, but I remember just rolling, I don’t know, always feeling like I could beat people, do funny things, and then you remember to save the tires or something’.
On a tough journey with many lessons, Binder has no doubt that what Acosta will have to face today is tougher than what he faced then: ‘You get some surprises along the way, but I think it’s always exciting at the beginning, you’re racing against the guys you admire. I loved it, it was really cool, and now I think it’s tougher than when I started, for sure. It’s really cool and an adventure.’
