Álex Rins scored his first points with Monster Energy Yamaha in MotoGP by finishing 13th in the Portuguese GP. However, he is not at the desired level and was far from his teammate Fabio Quartararo – who crossed the finish line in seventh.
For #42, there are changes to be made, after continuing to have the same difficulties: ‘I think after this race I realized that I need to do something different on the bike, because I had similar problems to the race in Qatar. I had a lot of difficulties with the front… after releasing the brakes, going to the acceleration… I’m having trouble turning. I can’t make the angle‘.
In Rins’ view, the solutions at this point may not necessarily involve new components: ‘Maybe we need to focus on tuning more than on new parts, because I’m not very happy. It’s not the team’s fault, it’s not the bike’s fault. It’s just our second race, we need to get used to the bike, we need to understand… we have work to do‘.
