Last year, there was speculation for a few months about Toprak Razgatlioglu moving from the World Superbike Championship to MotoGP with Yamaha. The rider even tested the YZR-M1, but ultimately remained loyal to WSBK… despite moving to ROKiT BMW.
His manager, Kenan Sofuoglu, always seemed to close the door on the premier class. However, at this moment the former rider has admitted to a future for Razgatlioglu in MotoGP, stating in an interview with the site GPOne.com:
– As I have always said, my goal has been to help Toprak become a champion in Superbikes and not in MotoGP. Now we have this challenge with BMW ahead of us, which we want to win. If Toprak wins the challenge with BMW in SBK, he can think about MotoGP. Once a rider becomes a champion, he may have more opportunities.
It is important to note that, in recent weeks, there has been speculation about a possible BMW project in MotoGP. However, this may not happen before 2027, when new regulations will be introduced.
