In the dual role of DAZN commentator and KTM test rider, Pol Espargaró has laid out the cards for the new MotoGP season that will kick off this weekend in Qatar. The Spaniard believes that compatriot Marc Márquez could be somewhat of an outsider in the title fight.
‘If you ask Marc Márquez, he will tell you that he won’t be fighting for podium positions or victories. Marc Márquez is one of those riders that you know can always win. It’s the kind of mentality that is much needed in MotoGP, but Marc has already shown for many years, even with bikes that weren’t at a high level, that he is always there,’ pointed out Espargaró to DAZN microphones.
Now at Gresini, Marc Márquez can never be ruled out when it comes to achievements this season, despite the favoritism of men like Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) or Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
‘He has already fought for races that seemed impossible. That’s why, Márquez knows, and I am convinced of it, that he can win. And it’s something that we will enjoy every weekend we have races. He has a lot to prove’, added the current KTM test rider.
