Fabio Quartararo is coming to the end of his contract with Monster Energy Yamaha in MotoGP and wants to return to fighting for titles. The manufacturer from Iwata does not seem to be in a position to allow it, at least this year, and speculation about the future has already begun.
In recent days, rumors have surfaced about an alleged contact already initiated with Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola. However, Marco Melandri believes in another option.
The former rider told InSella.it that KTM could be the only appealing alternative for Quartararo, considering that Ducati could also be appealing… but not in a satellite team:
– It was enough to look at his face before he left… it’s not an easy situation, because if you want to win you look for a Ducati, but if it’s not official… Look at [Jorge] Martín, either you put him in the factory team next year, or he leaves, there will be no middle ground. The only option could be KTM, but I was hoping that Marc Márquez would go there this year.
