Even the riders who stay with the same constructors and teams usually change bikes every new MotoGP season – the pace of development is so intense that there are always new versions of their machines.
Jorge Martín, from Prima Pramac, was asked in a press conference whether it was easier to switch from the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 to the GP24 or, on the contrary, if it was easier to move from the GP22 to the GP23 last year. The Spanish rider replied:
– For me, I think the jump from the 2022 to the 2023 bike was very easy, because the 2023 one wasn’t working very well for me. Then, with the 2023 bike, I was immediately competitive. And with the new one, I had some difficulties getting used to, let’s say, the riding style – you have to change a bit because you can take advantage of another part of the track. So, I had more trouble deciding, but in Sepang I already saw that it was better. So, I think it’s also a good bike for me.
