After leaving Repsol Honda, Marc Márquez is competing in MotoGP this year with a satellite team for the first time – Gresini. With that, he also entered the Ducati “sphere”, which supplies the bikes to the Italian team.
Since the announcement came out last October, the Spaniard has quickly been seen as a potential candidate for the Ducati factory team in 2025. And that possibility is real.
Davide Tardozzi, team manager of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, told the newspaper AS: ‘Of course Márquez can also enter the fight to be Pecco’s teammate, but we will not rush. I don’t know when that decision will be made. Márquez is a great champion‘.
It is worth remembering that Bagnaia’s renewal until 2026 was recently announced. His current teammate is Enea Bastianini, whose contract expires at the end of this year. Another possible candidate is last year’s vice-world champion, Jorge Martín, also at the end of his contract and currently with Prima Pramac.
