Miguel Oliveira finished the Qatar GP race in 15th place. The Trackhouse Racing rider, aboard an Aprilia, had a tough race, with his recovery after serving the Long Lap penalty being very gradual and he was almost always at the back of the pack.
A modest start for the Portuguese, who after starting in 13th, dropped to 15th on the opening lap, but still managed to climb to 14th with Jack Miller’s (Red Bull KTM) fall. However, on the second lap he was overtaken on track and returned to 15th. It was in this position that he remained until serving the Long Lap penalty on the fifth lap. The punishment stems from the Qatar Sprint race GP from last year, the last one Oliveira had competed in.
Complying with the admonition dropped the rider from Almada to 19th, climbing to 18th during the ninth lap. Oliveira then found himself behind his teammate, Raúl Fernández, overtaking him on lap 13. The slow progress continued with overtaking Augusto Fernández (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) on lap 18 and Álex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha) on lap 19.
There, Oliveira was back in the points-paying positions, in 15th. This was the position in which #88 finished, thus adding only one point in Losail.
