Confirming the enormous enthusiasm it arouses in the motorcycling universe, the 8th Portugal de Lés-a-Lés Off-Road ensured another luxury presence for the start of the event on October 1st in Penafiel. It is the trial and hard-enduro rider Pol Tarrés, who has shone in competitions around the world at the controls of a ‘big-trail’, participating in some of the toughest world events. With fame doubled by the numerous videos showing how to ‘play’ with a 200 kg enduro machine, the nephew of the legendary Jordi Tarrés, seven-time Trial World Champion, will be present at the event of the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation, at the invitation of Yamaha Motor Portugal.
Thus, on October 1st and 2nd, Pol Tarrés will be at the start of the mototouristic adventure that will take a caravan with 300 motorcyclists to Portimão, as well as at the Yamaha Oasis in Tomar on the 3rd, where, in addition to the possibility of seeing the exhibition with all the models of the 40 years of the Ténéré, he will sign and proceed with the delivery of a very special motorcycle. It is an exclusive Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Rally, filled with accessories that will be auctioned until September 25th and whose proceeds will entirely benefit the Riders for Health Gambia program.
A solidarity action that supports the maintenance of the fleet of motorcycles used to distribute essential prevention items, such as mosquito nets for malaria prevention, as well as enabling the regular opening of vaccination clinics against various diseases.
Pol Tarrés will complete the route of about 300 kilometers per day with stops in Figueira da Foz and Estremoz before arriving in Portimão, at the controls of a Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Rally similar to the one that will be auctioned. However, this one is decorated like the first motorcycle used in competition by the Spanish rider and, in addition to the rider’s personalized signature, it features an Akrapovič exhaust, a flat 2-piece rally-type seat, rubber side fairing protections, a raised mudguard suitable for off-road use, radiator, crankcase, and chain protections.
The starting bid for the unit will be the on-the-road price of €16,167, and the first bid, as stated in the rules of this auction, only needs to be 1 euro above this value! However, the higher the amount raised, the greater the ability to help more people in need.
Pol Tarrés will be one of the 300 motorcyclists who have filled the registrations for the 8th Portugal de Lés-a-Lés Off-Road, thus being able to explore Portugal. Through exciting dirt roads, among vineyards and olive groves, chestnut and oak forests, through mountains and valleys, with stops at unknown viewpoints to enjoy breathtaking landscapes, the route will also include some river crossings, in a challenge that, far from being a race, combines adventure and overcoming, camaraderie and fun.
