This weekend marks the end of the MotoE World Championship season – the first with FIM World Championship status. At the San Marino GP in Misano, there are four riders who could be crowned champions.
The leader is Mattia Casadei (HP Pons 40), with 2019 points. The Italian has finished in one of the top two positions since the second race in Silverstone, which allows him to enter this final round with a 21-point advantage.
His main pursuer is Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar), who has not been on the podium in races since the summer break and is coming from his first retirement of the year. The Spanish rider has Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini) just one point behind.
The last of the title contenders is Héctor Garzó. The Dynatvolt Intact GP rider is in fourth place, has achieved four podiums so far, and faces a difficult point deficit to recover: 44 points, with 50 points at stake.
The action of MotoE in Misano starts tomorrow with two morning practices and qualifying in the afternoon, while the two races are on Saturday. In case of victory, Casadei will be champion in the first race, regardless of the results of the opponents.
