Friday to forget for Miguel Oliveira in Misano. The CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team rider had a lot of difficulties in this afternoon’s practice session for the San Marino GP, ending up in 22nd place over a second and a half off the pace… while his teammate, Raúl Fernández, was tenth.
In his first stint, #88 opted for a hard front tire and a medium rear tire, just like the majority of his competitors, and initially was among the top ten fastest. After having his second lap canceled, Oliveira dropped to the back of the pack but managed to recover to fifth.
With constant improvements, “Falcão” was able to stay frequently in the top ten. In less than 20 minutes, Oliveira returned to the pits while in seventh place on the timesheets. The second stint began shortly after, this time with a hard front tire and a soft rear tire. Without improving his time, Oliveira fell out of the top ten before returning to the pits after just one flying lap.
It was a short visit to the pits before Oliveira returned to action, recovering the initial tire combination. Without improving his time, the rider from Almada dropped to 16th place on the table before completing this series of laps.
When Oliveira returned to action in the last quarter of an hour, he had already dropped to 19th. With only one lap completed before another pit stop, #88 lost positions again and fell to 21st. Despite improving his time, the laps were canceled for various reasons and he ended up in 22nd.
