The new Honda RC213V doesn’t seem to have had a strong impact on Joan Mir, judging by his comments after the first morning of testing with the team in Misano. The former world champion did see some improvements, but pointed out that they are far from ‘huge’.
Mir began by analyzing the morning impressions with the bike: ‘In some areas, we certainly improved. We didn’t take a huge step, we are far from it, but I felt a little better, especially with used tires. I was able to be a little more consistent, which is always good. But it’s only the first test. We could see some positive things, but I still can’t say if it will be the path we will follow next year, because we need to put everything in order. If we want to be where we want to be, we need a little more help’.
As for the new chassis and the aspects in which it is better, the Spanish rider stated
– Adherence is something that, for me, has improved slightly, but we are still far away. In the braking area, this motorcycle stops a little better, especially with used tires, and the corners also seem a little better. So, for me, if this afternoon goes as planned, it will be a small step in all areas.
