Jorge Martín continues to fight for the MotoGP title, entering the Asian phase just 36 points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia – there are 37 points up for grabs in each Grand Prix. Miguel Oliveira gained positions with yesterday’s sixth place finish in Misano.
With victories in the sprint race and the main race of the San Marino GP, the Spanish rider from Prima Pramac recovered 14 points against the Italian from Ducati. At the same time, he distanced himself from third-placed Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati)… who even got closer to the top, being 65 points behind Bagnaia.
In fourth place remains Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM), who even gained a point on fifth-placed Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia). Fabio Quartararo is the first from Monster Energy Yamaha in 11th, just ahead of teammate Franco Morbidelli. The best Honda rider continues to be Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) in 17th, despite not scoring in Misano. It is worth noting that yesterday’s fourth place earned Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM) the 18th position in the championship – ahead of some of the regular riders.
As for Oliveira, the Portuguese rider from CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team moved up to 13th, getting a little closer to the top ten – which, however, is still 39 points away.
