Marc Márquez is considered by many riders in MotoGP and beyond as the best rider in the paddock, and Tony Arbolino is (one) of those who also shares that opinion, not forgetting, however, that Jorge Lorenzo, also an icon of the category, managed to be better than his compatriot.
Second in the Moto2 world championship, 34 points behind Pedro Acosta, there are other Spaniards who fascinate Arbolino more, with former world champion Marc Márquez being, in the Italian’s opinion, the best rider but and despite that, he was beaten by another whom he greatly admires as he revealed in an interview with Motosan: ‘For me, Marc is the best of all time. He is the best rider, technically. And [Lorenzo] beat him. He lost the championship, but then he beat him. That says a lot about the riders and the mentality of great riders’.
It is worth remembering that right in the year of his promotion to MotoGP – 2013 – Márquez immediately won the championship, just like the following year, 2014. In 2015 Jorge Lorenzo managed to surpass him, before Márquez returned to winning titles, something that has been happening since 2016 (including up to 2019).
