This weekend, the first ever edition of the Indian MotoGP Grand Prix will take place, so there is a new track ahead for the riders. And Miguel Oliveira, who entered the premier class in 2019, has had an interesting record on new circuits.
The first new circuit in MotoGP since the arrival of the Portuguese rider from CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team was Portimão, at the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix… where Oliveira claimed a dominant victory from pole position. The year 2022 was marked by the debut of Mandalika, in Indonesia… and once again it was #88 who emerged victorious in that round.
After these two successful cases, Oliveira will now try to repeat the “feat” this weekend. The Buddh International Circuit hosts the Indian Grand Prix, being the third brand new circuit on the calendar since 2019. The question that arises is, therefore: “Will history repeat itself”? The answer will be given next Sunday.
