The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will undergo new changes in 2024, with the departure of Franco Morbidelli and the arrival of Álex Rins. Lin Jarvis recently admitted that he doesn’t know the manufacturer’s new addition well, but he has high expectations.
The General Director of Yamaha Motor Racing said, in an interview with Michel Turco, that he doesn’t know #42 as a person because he has been aligned with rival teams over the years, however, he hopes that the rider comes with a willingness to work and help the team turn around the recent less positive results:
– I don’t know him very well because he is always one of our rivals. But I hope he contributes, participates in the team’s efforts, and works to turn the situation around. He is a competitive rider and gives his best.
Rins is this year with LCR Honda, a team with which he has already won once and helped end a long victory drought for Honda in MotoGP, will strengthen Yamaha while Morbidelli will move to Pramac Racing, as confirmed earlier this week.
