Tony Arbolino led the second practice session of the Moto2 Indian GP. This was the fastest session of Friday for the category at the Buddh International Circuit.
The first rider to lead was Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex), who after the first flying laps was 0.225s ahead of Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia/Kalex). The Thai rider then moved to the top of the timesheets, continuing the good performance he showed in FP1.
With his third flying lap, Acosta led again, relegating Chantra to second. At this point, Jake Dixon (Inde GasGas Aspar/Kalex) was in third, but would be overtaken by Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS/Kalex) and Sergio García (Pons Wegow Los40/Kalex).
With 17 minutes to go, Acosta set the fastest lap of the day so far. Arbolino closed in, also setting a lap in the 1m52s moments later. Ai Ogura (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia/Kalex) was the next man in front, less than a quarter of an hour from the end.
The best times came in the final minutes. Arbolino moved up to first and stayed there. Acosta improved, but was 65 thousandths behind. Ogura finished third, with Chantra in fourth and Dixon in fifth.
