One of the most anticipated motorcycles of this year, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will soon be launched, and its homologation documents have been released, revealing some interesting details.
Firstly, the most exciting part – the engine. The adventure bike receives a new 451.65cc liquid-cooled engine with 40 hp. Yes, this is a modern adventure bike that produces an impressive amount of power, only 3 hp less than the KTM 390 Adventure. We expect it to produce around 40-45Nm, more focused on performance.
Now we also know some of the dimensions of the bike, which you can see below.

Regarding the weight of the bike, the homologation document mentions that the total weight of the bike is 394kg. Considering that the new Himalayan 450 will have a load capacity of 180kg (approximately), the curb weight of the ADV will be around 210kg.
Yes, it is quite heavy for an adventure bike, however, with its long wheelbase of 1510mm, the bike should be very stable at high speeds on the highways. For reference, the KTM 390 Adventure has a wheelbase of 1430 mm. Now, of course, navigating tight trails will be quite a task for the new Himalayan, but it should continue to be an excellent option on faster off-road terrains – courtesy of the 21/19 inch wheel setup, riding posture, and suspension.
We hope that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be launched in the coming months, probably to coincide with this year’s Rider Mania event, scheduled for November 24-26.
