Honda continues at a performance level well below what is desired and expected, unable to regularly fight for podiums in MotoGP. Marc Márquez is being linked to Gresini, with rumors escalating after a test in Misano where significant progress was not seen.
The six-time world champion said in a press conference that the version of the tested bike is different, but the performance remains the same – pinpointing a specific area for improvement:
– Of course, we have some differences and it is true that the riding position is different and I feel different on the bike. But there was no difference in performance, in lap time: it was exactly the same. So, that’s where we need to continue, especially on the exit of the corner – because on the entry we are not bad. But we need to improve in the middle and on the exit of the corner, that’s where the lap time comes more easily.
Questioned about whether the Misano test gave him all the information he needed to decide the future, Márquez stated: ‘My ideas are the same as a month ago, so at this moment there is no news’.
