Aleix Espargaró has not had an easy time in the past two weeks. After some issues at the Indian GP, the Aprilia rider was forced to end the Sprint early yesterday due to a mechanical failure on his RS-GP.
Aware of this, but also that mathematically the championship is still open, Espargaró said in the debrief that he only needs to rest with his family to recover for the remaining races on the calendar:
– It has been a very tough two weeks. I have fought a lot these two weeks, for various reasons, so now I need to go home to recharge my batteries. We still have some chances to fight for the championship lead and I will try.
Regarding his disappointment and frustration yesterday, #41 stated that it was not just for one isolated reason, but for everything that has been happening in the past weeks:
– It wasn’t just yesterday, it was many things during these two weeks. Many, many things. My mistake in qualifying with my team, with my mechanics, then the failure in the India race, the failure of yesterday. I just want to try to go home, recharge my batteries with my family and come back in Indonesia.
